Celine Dion has a recurrent dream in which she wins an Oscar for portraying the late opera star Maria Callas in a biopic of the soprano. She even recalls what her acceptance speech would be, “I am at the front row at the Academy Awards with my mother, husband and son and it's announced I have won the Oscar for my role as opera star Maria Callas. Celine gets the highest honor at the World Music Award - 2007-11-06
Celine Dion received the most important accolade at the World Music Award. The Canadian-born songstress was prized with the Legend Award at a gala in Monte Carlo on Sunday night. When presenting the award, Prince Albert II described Dion's voice as "soothes the world's hearts and creates smiles of love across the face of the world." Dion dedicated the trophy to her family, saying, "every time I go on stage, it's all of them going on stage with me." Pattie LaBelle was also honor for her contribution to R&B. Avril Lavigne, Mika, Rihanna, Laura Pausini and Mana also hit the stage.
Celine comes back with ‘taking chances’ - 2007-10-23
Celine Dion is set to release the first video of her forthcoming album Taking Chances. The singer is back after four year of work on her show A New Day in Las Vegas. The album will hit retailers on November 13. Kara DioGuardi and the former member of the Eurythmics, Dave Stewart wrote the song. Other performers that collaborated on this album, Ben Moody, Kristian Lundin, Anders Bagge, Peer Astrom, Linda Perry, Ne-Yo and Aldo Nova.
Celine calls off two shows - 2007-10-09
Celine Dion has canceled two Las Vegas performances due to a viral infection. "Celine is fighting a viral infection, which causes fever, muscle cramps, dehydration and a number of other discomforts. She is on doctor's orders to rest and take in plenty of fluids in order to recover from the infection," reads in her official website. Celine had to call off the shows scheduled for 11th and 12th of Oct because of the diagnosis. The songstress will begin her South African and European tour of South Africa in Johannesburg next year in February. Her new LP ‘Taking Chances’ is due to be out on November 13.
